Year in review with Kambi’s CCO Sarah Robertson

From a new CEO to the launch of Kambi’s expanded product portfolio, it’s been a busy year for the home of premium sports betting solutions

What were Kambi’s commercial highlights in 2024?

The past 12 months have been defined by rising momentum for our commercial operations.

With regulation in Brazil on the horizon, partnering with KTO Group – one of the country’s most recognisable and established operators – was a significant milestone, while Kambi furthered its position as the Turnkey Sportsbook provider of choice for tribal operators throughout North America, with Wind Creek Hospitality and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma joining the Kambi network.

There were also important extensions with key partners including Rush Street Interactive, a partner with which Kambi has hit several considerable milestones.

The year 2024 also saw concerted progress for Kambi’s expanded product suite, becoming the home of premium sports betting solutions with a range of standalone products including Odds Feed+, Bet Builder, Managed Trading and Front End. These services are already generating significant interest – we have signed Odds Feed+ partnerships with one of the largest operators in North America, alongside Brazilian operator Rei do Pitaco, while UK-facing operator kwiff is also leveraging Kambi’s Bet Builder via our AI-powered trading division Tzeract.

Can you expand on the products available in the Kambi portfolio and the strategic thinking behind this expansion?

Kambi’s Turnkey Sportsbook is our flagship product, one which has helped to establish the business as a global leader in the sports betting industry, the trusted partner to more than 40 operators on six continents, and will remain the core of our offering as we believe an end-to-end sportsbook solution is the best strategic fit for the majority of operators in regulated markets.

That said, we know that many operators seek more granular control over their sports betting technology while recognising the need to outsource certain elements of the offering to third-party specialists to consistently compete at the top of the market.

Kambi’s product suite, consisting of our Turnkey Sportsbook, Odds Feed+, Bet Builder, Managed Trading, Esports, Front End and Sportsbook Platform, caters to this desire, significantly expanding Kambi’s addressable market.

What sets each of these products apart from those of our competitors is that they all benefit from Kambi’s Turnkey Sportsbook and the wealth of data that informs our best-in-class end-to-end offering. For example, where other odds feeds are developed in silo, Kambi’s Odds Feed+ uses pricing sharpened by the billions of transactions which take place across our Turnkey Sportsbook every year. Operators can select a bespoke package of sports and events (with event resulting and cash out included as standard), adjusting these on the fly, and consume them via a single API integration.

With the appointment of Werner Becher as CEO, how do you reflect on the leadership changes that have taken place in the company this year?

Werner joined Kambi with huge experience in both the B2B and B2C sectors of the sports betting industry, having previously held senior roles at companies including Sportradar and Interwetten. The benefits of his extensive industry know-how and leadership have already been felt since he took up the role in July, helping Kambi to continually build an environment in which every employee can thrive and provide maximum support to our growing range of partners. Having taken on the role of CCO myself in 2024, I am enthused to have joined the business’ senior leadership team at such an exciting time with the growth of our product portfolio and the expanded commercial opportunities that brings.

Of course, Kristian Nylén has been an immense figure in Kambi’s journey, leading the company since its founding to become the foremost provider of sports betting technology on the market. From his position on the board, Kambi will continue to benefit from his sports betting nous and product expertise for years to come.

What are your targets in 2025?

Kambi’s expanded product portfolio is already building momentum, with key partner signings throughout 2024 across our Odds Feed+ and Bet Builder services, as well as Front End and Esports, and we will continue to build on this position of strength throughout the coming 12 months.

Latin America will continue to be a key area of focus as regulation spreads throughout the region, and we are particularly excited to launch in Brazil’s regulated market. Kambi is well established as a trusted partner to ambitious operators throughout the region, partnered with companies including BetPlay, BetWarrior, KTO, Rei do Pitaco and Rush Street Interactive, and we will build on this position with an offering which can be highly localised and tailored to meet any regulatory requirements.
