A new era of entertainment: why esoccer is a must-have for sportsbooks

The final day kicked off with a panel discussion moderated by Abios Marketing Manager Kristina Skogvard who explored the phenomenal growth of esoccer and its potential to elevate a sportsbook year-round with Abios MD Anton Janér and Sales Director Niclas Sundell. The session highlighted the increasing popularity of esoccer and how sportsbooks can leverage this trend to attract and retain bettors during a soccer of soccer and beyond.

“What’s not to like about esoccer? It’s played in a professional setting that produces a lot of content, so we are able to provide soccer coverage 24/7 throughout the year with several matches going on in parallel. It’s a super exciting product that is both a filler around regular football but also a bridging product for analogue sports going into esports.”

Unlocking innovation through AI: how machine learning and automation are changing the game

Following the esoccer discussion, the Festival shifted its focus to another hot topic – artificial intelligence. In this session, Kambi’s AI-powered trading division, Tzeract, discussed how it is utilising AI and machine learning to meet evolving user demands, such as a huge rise in popularity of non-standard markets, and drive the next generation of sports betting experiences.

“Our models are getting much larger and more complex – that makes it difficult for a human to control. We felt the need to build our own auto pilot to keep accurate prices on site through auto compiling and auto trading. This frees traders from mundane tasks so they can focus on injecting their expert opinion where it really matters.”

Euros and Copa América: maximising a summer of soccer

The final session of the Festival focused on the upcoming summer of soccer with Kambi’s Head of Soccer Jonathon Hurst hosting a panel discussion featuring Christian Polsäter, Director of Sports at LeoVegas Group, and Luis Geovanni Florez Diaz, Senior Director of Operations and Product at BetPlay. With the highly anticipated Euros and Copa América tournaments on the horizon, the panel offered valuable insights and strategies for acquiring, retaining, and engaging bettors during this peak season for sports betting.

“We’ve all noticed the increase in Bet Builder turnover the last couple of years. It is something we are seeing become even more popular in big tournaments which is going to be important to promote.”
